WHAT IS EN ISO 13287 - 2019?

This standard establishes a procedure for determining the slip resistance of safety footwear with a traditional sole. It excludes footwear withfeatureslike studs or spikes, as well as footwear intended for soft ground like sand and sludge.

1 SRA -

SRA-graded footwear is put through its paces on a ceramic tile floor with a solution of sodium Lauryl Sulphate (NaLS). This solution acts as a lubricant to test the footwear's slip resistance in slick circumstances. The slip resistance of a piece of footwear is determined by its frictional force, or its capacity to resist slipping across a surface. The dynamic coefficient of friction is used to express the results.

2 SRB -

SRB graded footwear is tested in the same way that SRA graded footwear is tested, except on a steel floor with glycerol.

3 SRC -

The SRC grade will be applied to the footwear if the outsole passes the ceramic tile test (SRA) and the steel floor test (SRB).
