WHAT IS EN407?

PROTECTIVE GLOVES AGAINST THERMAL HAZARDS

A six-digit number is associated with the EN407 heat and flame symbol. The performance levels (1-4) that a glove can achieve for each of the tests within the standard are identified by this six-digit number. The higher the performance level, the better the glove's protection against a variety of thermal hazards, as listed below:

Portwest Welders Gauntlet A500

Gloves that have passed EN407 tests will have a fire shield to the right of the product, either on the outside or on the inner label. Only those sections of the test that are relevant to the product must be completed; however, any areas that are not tested should be marked with an X rather than a number.

Portwest monitors and manages its operations to ensure that ethical and legal concerns are identified and that steps are made to remove or mitigate their impact.
